A fun fact about my family name:

Especially in London, but for sure also in other cities as I can imagine, one will often find the word MEWS in a street name, such as Buckingham Mews or Royal Crescent Mews for instance. Mews were mainly stables in the 17th and 18th centuries where horses and carriages were housed, i.e. the lords lived in the elegant front house and the coachmen lived in the rear house above the stables. And today, you can see the MEWS streets for what they are today: The once unattractive back houses have become rather expensive flats and offices nowadays.
